Nisei Songs - CD

=
A musical cocktail of songs by Americans of Japanese ancestry recorded in Hawaii in the 1950’s.  The historical liner notes are written in Kanji with an English translation. The Hawaiian Nisei songs convey  a sense of the times – the 1950’s era – when Latin, Tango, Hawaiian, Chanson, and Calypso music were all listened to and enjoyed worldwide.
This is music from a unique era that fused cultural elements together to create a new sound.  Originally designed for export only to the Asian market.
