is the legendary 1963 album plus 2 bonus tracks! This is a Hawaiian collector’s “must-have”! James Michener called
the Waikiki Beachboys “the perpetual adolescents of the ocean” and said of them “without these remarkable people
the island would be nothing. With them it is a carnival.” This is the only time in the history of the Beachboys,
dating back from the time of King Kamehameha (who was quite a Beachboy himself) that the boys ever made a
recording, to say nothing of the first and most likely only time they have ever been rounded up for a group
photograph. The Beachboys include: Duke Kahanamoku, Chick Daniels, Panama, Kalakaua, Fat, Jimmy Hakuole, Squeeze
Kamana, & Splash Lyons, and party host: the one-time leading retailer of Hawaiian sportswear and long time friend
of the Beachboys – Waltah Clarke. This CD memorializes a wonderful part of Hawaii’s rich history, which is now all
but gone! You can’t help but sense and feel touched by the emotion and carefree spirit of the Beachboys, their
lives,
and that special era now bygone.
